Something For Somebody Somewhere

i love you.

stare down my nose

the color drain from my eyes

cold cereal and TV before i go to sleep

breathing out, hoping to breathe in

i know nothing is wrong, but i’m not convinced

i know i’ve already told myself

i’ll believe it from somebody else

maybe i’ll believe it from somebody else

Portugal. The Man
The Wiltern, Los Angeles

Twin Shadow at the Glasshouse, Pomona

before we live forever say, together we can be okay

if it’s the last thing that we do

let me sing along with you

i don’t know where to begin, just a couple kids

growing up by the bar, on the side of the road

it was only a dream, saw you staring at me

it was already late, 10:10 in neon green

and your number was on my right hand in red ink

suddenly we were young, fooling around as ghosts

born on different coasts, frozen in time

this is our song

i will always sing for you

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act this morning, and ruled in a separate decision that opponents of same-sex marriage in California don’t have the legal standing to challenge a lower court’s ruling that overturned the Proposition 8 ballot measure that had banned it.
